Verne - St. Bartholomew / Bartholomae

Verne - St. Bartholomew / Bartholomae
Verne claims to be the oldest place of pilgrimage in Westphalia, dating back to the cruisades. Actually it is not that busy any more... St. Bartholomew church on a little hill is a three dimensional puzzle. The oldest part (11th.) is romanesque - and most of it is still in place, including the steeple. Then there are addons. The church got longer in gothic style - and a round neogothic chapel was added in 1901.
