Oggiono - Battistero di San Giovanni Battista

The church dedicated to Saint Euphemia replaced an Romanesque structure in the early 17th century. The baptistery to the right was already centuries old at that time. The octagonal "Battistero di San Giovanni Battista" was erected in the 11th century on the foundations of an older baptistery, that had been rectangular, dated to the 6th century.
