Secqueville-en-Bessin - Saint-Sulpice
What an impressive church in the center of Secqueville-en-Bessin, a village with a population of not even 400. They would easily all fit into this church - even with many guests. When the church was erected it belonged to the Abbaye-aux-Hommes in Caen, what explains the effort, expended here.
Nave and transepts are Romanesque (11th/12th century), the massive crossing tower with its octogonal spire dates to the 13th century. It is very similar to the tower of the abbey-church "Saint-Etienne" in Caen.
