Spotted!

Spotted!
We don't seem to get many Ladybirds in our garden for some reason, so was pleased to spot this one the other day.

Pam J, Marie-claire Gallet, Raven Lunatic, Old Owl have particularly liked this photo

Fascinating photo: the way the spider web is pulling the leaf; the grip of the acrobatic ladybird on the leaf edge; and is that the husk of something on the leaf surface? Well spotted (!) and well taken.

Thank you, I was pleased with this. Not sure what was on the surface of the leaf now.

Oh I'm so glad you've seen one! Nice close up as well. We had a few back in April, but not as many as in previous years. I fear that the harlequin variety may be reducing their numbers, as those prey on the eggs of our native ladybirds.

It was certainly good to see one...Actually I have now seen two - but not at the same time, so it could have been the same one!

We used to see quite a few, but the last few years, there have been virtually none.
