Thank you for your comments, they are very cute, but unfortunately when they were introduced around 1870 the problems of importing an alien species was not appreciated, there are many reasons why they are a pest, a major one is that they carry squirrel pox they are immune but it is fatal to our wonderful red squirrels which has been reduced to dangerously low numbers
