sam - Bedford bus
Bedford "D122" 14 seater bus. Entered RAF service in 1959 with Bomber and Strike Command, acting as transport to deliver Vulcan bomber crews to their aircraft and general duties around the base.
When demobbed , it was bought by Sheffield Scout group, given the name "Spiney Norman" [hence the hedgehog logo] and undertook extensive travels around Europe.
SAM purchased it from the Scouts in 2020 - it features in an episode of the TV programme "Bangers and Cash" - and it was repainted in a suitable livery, whilst retaining Spiney Norman to honour that period in her history.
Note the age compatible registration plates [OWA 747K]
