BAC Jet Provost T4 {XS209}

These were developed in the 1950s by Hunting Percival [later, British Aircraft Corporation] and variants served with the RAF's Central Flying School and the RAF College from 1955 to 1993 as a jet trainer - hence the grey, red and white livery. They were retired early, in the 1970s when the airframe began to suffer fatigue problems.

XS209 was built in 1964, and was delivered to RAF Manby in February of that year. It was purchased for SAM in 2006.
