After the 1983 switch off, this horizontal pump was acquired by Strumpshaw Museum.
It was moved here in 1983 and running again - on compressed air - the following year [1984].

There is a notice asking people not to touch the brass fence rails and post tops.
This is because the oils and salt in fingerprints will heavily tarnish the brass, and it is difficult to remove.
The extra fence is to ensure children can't get too close to the moving parts.
