This 'Indian' variant is still causing a rash of new cases, not helped by the lack of mask-wearing and other suitable precautions against transmission.
Currently, new cases are dropping from the third sub-peak of the third ['Indian'] wave.
Despite vaccinations, this high number of cases still results in hospital admissions and, eventually, some deaths.
