Comparing these graphs it looks likely that the vaccines have succeeded in almost completely breaking the cases to deaths link, the cases to hospitalisations link is much weaker, but isn't broken and the infections rate is, well, only partly affected by vaccination.
Because, a) there are still large numbers unvaccinated in some areas / age groups. and b) the vaccination protects against serious illness & death meaning many mild cases will still "breakthrough" the vaccinations, especially with the 'Indian' variant. c) some indications of waning protection from the earlier vaccinations, especially in the elderly & others with less strong immune systems [hence the booster jags]

[and therefore, logically, we should still be using other means to mitigate against infections ...]
