I was travelling back from the Birmingham (having attended the HRA awards) during Storm Ciara, and the train was terminated at Preston. So I had an unexpected night in a local hotel. Journey was completed the following afternoon, and a great deal of land was visibly affected by flooding.
The damage to bridges was not as extensive as from Storm Desmond & friends, back in December 2015.
