After some searching I have found out which moth this is ...
Cerapteryx graminis, the antler moth, is a moth of the family Noctuidae. It is a common species throughout most of Europe but is lacking in the very dry southern regions

that was my first idea, but I don't think it is either a Silver Y or one of the Hebrew Character moths, the light coloured marking isn't quite right for those two species.
