nel centro storico di Savona, esattamente in via Quarda superiore.
Questo è il Palazzo Pavese del Carretto Pozzobonello (sec. XIII-XV), il bellissimo atrio, ricavato agli inizi del XVI secolo, custodisce una raffinata decorazione a grottesche, ha il pavimento in ardesia e alcune antiche sculture; doveva essere splendido, ma ora è molto mal tenuto, pieno di ragnatele e alcuni punti luce non funzionano.
Di impianto medievale, questo palazzo deve l'aspetto attuale all'Arcivescovo di Avignone Rolando Del Carretto che lo fece costruire nel 1529; è stato più volte rimaneggiato e restaurato, racchiude un mausoleo dei Della Rovere, con i resti del Cardinale Spinola. Nel 1621 i Gesuiti vi fondarono il loro Collegio.
