19 August 1839 is the birthday of photography. Since then, we have been able to document the changes in the world. And so today, on World Photography Day 2022, I would like to publish a photo that can be a document of time. It shows the glacier Rofenkarferner (3,000 - 3600m), a dying glacier in the Ötztal Alps (Tyrol, Austria). For comparison, a photo from 2007: ~~~~~ Der 19. Und so möchte ich heute, zum Weltfotografietag, ein Foto veröffentlichen, das ein Zeitdokument sein kann. Es zeigt den Rofenkarferner (3.000 - 3600m), einen sterbenden Gletscher in den Ötztaler Alpen (Tirol, Österreich). The picture shows the mountaineers' chapel in Vent (Ötztal Alps, Tyrol, Austria) and the two bridges over the Venter Ache . This river is exceptionally swollen due to the immense glacier melt this summer. ~~~~~ Das Bild zeigt die Bergsteigerkapelle ihn Vent (Ötztaler Alpen, Tirol, Österreich) und die zwei Brücken über die Venter Ache . Today in the via ferrata at the dam wall of the Schlegeis reservoir in Tyrol (Austria, 1,872 m above sea level). Here you have 131 metres of air under your feet. ~~~~ Heute im Klettersteig an der Staumauer des Schlegeis-Stausees in Tirol (1.872 m Seehöhe). Hier hat man 131 Meter Luft unter den Füßen. ~~~~~
