The Douglas C-47 Skytrain or Dakota
The Douglas C-47 Skytrain or Dakota (RAF designation) is a military transport aircraft developed from the civilian Douglas DC-3 airliner. It was used extensively by the Allies during World War II and remains in front line service with various military operators to the present day.[2]
Logging sunset
The sun is fast disappearing behind the mountains as the afternoon load of timber waits above Valea Scradei on the Wassertalbahn in northern Romania.
Power station sunset
The third of the train window shots features the coal fired power station at Hailar in the Mongolian Autonomous Region of China as the sun sets on a bitterly cold day.
Crossing the tank
The tarboat is just passing onto the Barton Tank (Barton swing aqueduct) over the Manchester Ship Canal as it heads towards Worsley and Leigh. It looks as if the steelwork could do with some painting.
