Hanley Odeon
Former Odeon cinema on the corner of Trinity St and Foundry St, Hanley. This was formerly the site of the Grand Theatre which burned down in 1932. The replacement cinema opened as The Odeon in 1937 and ran until 1975. It was subsequently used as a warehouse during the 1980s, when it suffered minor fire damage and then lay derelict for many years. In 1999 it was converted for use as licensed premises, and was last trading as the Boston Bar. It is now disused again. The buff terracotta faience survives, but the effect of the tower with the glazed top has been lost due to the tall building being constructed alongside.
