Telephone Buildings

Telephone Buildings
This Grade II listed building was the former telephone exchange and associated offices for the Hanley area. Erected for the National Telephone Company in 1899-1900 it served until a new exchange building was built at the rear in the 1970s. In 1904-5 the number of telephone subscribers in the Potteries and district was about 2,200. It is now a trendy bar.

Nautilus, Aschi "Freestone", David Slater (Spoddendale) have particularly liked this photo

un beau bâtiment caractéristique de l ' architecture " utilitaire" de cette époque. Certainement beaucoup plus beau que l 'impersonnel " building" gris à son arrière !
