Orchids

Grrr... all my descriptions for the four photos uploaded today have completely disappeared! Oops, I think I know what happened. So, here we go again. This is a close-up view of one of the beautiful Orchids that were growing in the Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo.

Nancy, this is one of my photos of that yellow Lady's-slipper in the Conservatory. No cropping at all, so it will give you an idea of how my new camera works.

Just wanted to wish all my flickr friends in the U.S. a VERY Happy Thanksgiving! It felt SO good to see so many brightly-coloured "things" at the Zoo yesterday afternoon, especially in the Conservatory and Tropical Plant area.

Another of the gorgeous Orchids that are carefully tended in the Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo. I am always in awe at the beautiful, intricate patterns that can be seen in nature.

I was going to call these Orchids, but then wasn't sure if that is what they are. Growing in the new Enmax Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo. Whatever they are, they are very attractive. Later: I think this is Yellow Ground Orchid, Spathoglottis plicata.
