I love Dandelions
Took this photo at the Saskatoon Farm, SE of Calgary, on 24 May 2014, when my youngest daughter treated me to a delicious lunch there for my birthday. At the moment, Dandelions are blooming everywhere, turning the ground into a beautiful carpet of gold. They look so cheery after our long, harsh winter, though of course they won't be as pretty once they have all turned to seed : )
"The dandelion plant is a beneficial weed, with a wide range of uses, and is even a good companion plant for gardening. Its taproot will bring up nutrients for shallower-rooting plants, and add minerals and nitrogen to soil. It is also known to attract pollinating insects and release ethylene gas which helps fruit to ripen." From Wikipedia.
