Another of the beautiful tropical butterflies that have been on display this summer in the ENMAX Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo. Taken way back on May 10th.
I am totally "knocked out" once again after a long and most enjoyable day of botanizing with a couple of extremely knowledgeable friends - one is an expert in Lichens and, to my eyes, so is the other, who is self-taught. We went to the Perrenaud Natural Area, north west of the city, where we spent all day exploring every "nook and cranny". So much fresh air, sunshine (which comes as a huge shock after months of cold and rain, LOL), and constantly getting down to ground level and up again to take photos has left me completely useless for anything : ) All my body wants to do is fall into bed and sleep ... sigh. Need to download my photos and recharge camera batteries and get all my "stuff" together ready for a bird walk tomorrow morning and then a visit to the Calgary Zoo Ranch, which is just south of the city, in the afternoon. One of the very interesting things going on there is their Whooping Crane breeding program : )
