"City of New Orleans"

"City of New Orleans"
"City of New Orleans" was written by Steve Goodman describing a train ride from Chicago to New Orleans on the Illinois Central Railroad's City of New Orleans. The closest I can get to New Orleans is my shot of a train in Swanage railway station :-)

The best known version of the song is probably the one by Arlo Guthrie but I am keeping this version for a future post :-)

I am using Steve's version from the Old Grey Whistle Test back in 1972

Another fave version for me is by The Highwaymen

Perfectly nostalgic with music even I know:-) I'm amazed there still is a Ladies Room- or is there only the sign left?:-)
