Approaching the (opened) Hood Canal bridge on the way to the US base at Kitsap-Bangor. The bridge is a floating bridge with a gate for ship traffic--and look at all the automobile traffic that's backed up! The Hood "Canal" is a natural fjord, despite its name which was conferred by explorer George Vancouver. Evidently the Hood Canal Bridge is one of very few floating bridges worldwide that crosses salt water.
