Thanks, everyone! Yeah, we've seen bears a few times--so far they've just skedaddled, which is what's supposed to happen!

I think I'd also want a dog with me if there were bears around! I'd noticed the satellite view was gone and had thought it was a glitch in my system - the maps are very approximate indeed.

The problem is that bears and dogs are notorious for not getting along! I've let Ipernity know about the problem with the loss of the satellite view, and they said they're looking into it--so we'll see.
