Crossed Legs on an English Beach, 1949
My mother's sister, Pearl, with John on her lap and Heather inside her, (born Jan 1950.) Her husband, my uncle Les, stretching out with crossed legs, in English mid-century beach attire.
Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: FOLDED ARMS AND/OR CROSSED LEGS

I think Les may be scanning the shore for the first bikini to cross the Channel. And I thought the beaches of Great Britain were stoney but that's excellent sand.

haha Very possible.
And there are lovely sandy beaches, it's just that generally you have to walk yards and yards over brutal stones. (this beach, I guess not).
And one of the unexplainable facts is that as babies we were often deposited - and photographed - on the stones. You have to wonder why they couldn't make the effort to walk the extra little stretch to the sand! I know you've seen it before, rick, but as a reminder...

Looks like they have the beach to themselves despite the lack of stones. 8)
