Brought forward for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of "Could be a scene from a movie."
We have been having major computer problems here and I have missed posting for awhile. Hopefully we are back on target now. (New hard drive!)

Unknown woman on the left, Ada May Grimshaw on the right. Ada is my husband's maternal grandmother.

Ada appears to be wearing a wildly impractical hat for cold weather. I've never seen anything like it. Her friend's clothes seem far more sensible.
Ada lived her entire life in Springfield, Vermont but this does not look like Springfield. I'm not sure where it is.
Are those collared trees for sugaring? They look more like elms than maples, though.

RicksPics, Nautilus, kiiti, Alan Mays and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

That Ada May was such a beauty. I'm trying to imagine that red hair. :)

Thanks, Ellie! If it was anything like my niece's when she was younger, it was an absolutely beautiful light red, with golden overtones.
Did I tell you that I'm recording Ada's diary?

No, but how wonderful! To be sure I understand, you are reading it aloud while being recorded? It is pretty detailed? It would be such fun to have something like that. I'll bet she had beautiful handwriting.

Hi Ellie - That was misleading of me. I really meant to say that I'm transcribing her diary. I have a blog where I've been posting it for years, (1915 - 1919 are the years this diary covers - although she has other diaries.) I'm closing in on the end of thes diary - although I'm behind a month now. It's a pretty amazing record of a middle class Vermont family in those times. Her handwriting is pretty scrawly actually - but still a million times neater than mine. : ) If you want to take a look, check out my "Ada May" album - I have the website written on many of the pics. Thank you for your appreciation!
