School Photo - 1962

Look at my hair!
My Nana was visiting and told my mother she would take me for a needed hair cut. ( A shop at the bottom of Daws Heath Road and Eastwood Road, Rayleigh People.)
The hairdresser was a very young trainee. I forget the details but someone startled her and she cut this massive chunk out of my bangs!
My grandmother paid her (my memory says half a crown) and laughed merrily all the way back home because she tipped her and realized she probably shouldn't have.
I don't remember being that amused.
I'm 8 years old.
