In January 2021, I made an alphabet sampler in chalk for the new year. In the beginning it looked like a disco dance floor, but then the letters started filling in.

The in-progress steps are something I hardly ever photographed at events, where the whole piece is finished in a few hours. But at home, I have the luxury of letting the picture unfold over a week or more, and it's been interesting to decide how to break that up so that the break points are fun too.
