Not in recent times, as far as I know. The dereliction is more due to depopulation and abandonment (the late 1960's would have been the best time to have seen it, when the cave dwellings were still lived in). The old rock-hewn and other abandoned buildings are gradually being restored and turned into second homes and boutique hotels. Better than their complete disappearance, but not quite the same.
