Signs of old industry close to the footbridge over the River Worfe in Davenport Estate

Looking through an old book published in 1899, Nooks and Crannies of Shropshire, the author says... "...following an unfrequented sandy lane, drop to a secluded nook where the river Worf meanders past a small ivyclad water-wheel house, with the green glades of Davenport House feathering the hill slopes before us..." The following pictures are of Hilditch Pool which was formed to provide water for Titton Mill. In 1821 Titton Corn mill was being sold at Auction, by direction of the assignees of William Cattell a bankrupt.
