Middleton Hall (grid reference SP193982) is a Grade II* listed building dating back to medieval times. Middleton Hall, run by an independent charitable trust, is set in 42 acres on the Warwickshire/Staffordshire. Middleton has two entries in the Domesday book and the oldest building on site dates from 1285. Elizabeth I stayed at the Hall for a week in 1575 and it was home to the father of natural history, Francis Willughby. The Hall is being restorated by an intrepid group of volunteers who form the Middleton Hall Trust. Open to the public as a Museum and Gardens, the Hall hosts public events and can be booked for Weddings and Private functions. A Site of Special Scientific Interest the grounds boast nature trails around the oldest man-made lake in Warwickshire and Staffordshire. It has beautiful formal gardens and one of the earliest examples of a heated Walled Garden in the country. The Courtyard houses 12 retail outlets.
