The Forecast Was: Just A Few Snow Flurries

The Forecast Was: Just A Few Snow Flurries
... typical New England saltbox-style cottage with cedar shingles ... of course, cedar shingles! ... Mainers will cedar shingle everything they can: sheds, barns, and even covering mobile homes/house trailers that are getting old ...

Do they cedar-shingle (totally new term to me and I am struggling with the concept a bit) their cars? (sorry, automobiles?)
I only ask because we had a fashion in the UK in the 50s and 60s for half-timbering our cars for a time!!!

Cedar shingle pics at ---> www.gettyimages.com/photos/cedar-shingles ...

Cedar shingles (sometimes called "shakes") go on buildings, not cars/automobiles/vehicles ... yeah, I remember vehicles with wooden trim (later, metal painted to look like wood). Famously, those were the "woodie" station wagons used by surfers to carry their surfboards ... as put to music by The Beach Boys.

OK, in agreement: we are not that old; just trapped in a time-warp !! ...

Thank you for thinking of us in North Carolina !
It was a doozy of "a Weather Event" ..
Usually we get ice storms -- not this time... one could slice the county diagonally and we were on the side with 12 inches -- cross Harden Street .. they have 15 inches ~
Today is Sunday .. 16 Dec 2018 .. there is still some snow in yards.
Streets are fine .. but I didn't go out in it .. as much as I wanted to make a snow angel and build a Snow Bear !
