A photo from November 2013.. the offices of the ''Halifax bulding society'' in the town of 'Halifax'. a Minster and market town in West Yorkshire. , the town became an economic hub of the old West Ridng, and was a thriving mill town during the industrial revolution. NEX 5 photo using the Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 together with the 'click on' 'VCL-ECU 1' ultra wide adaptor which has a focal-length reduction factor of 0.75×, the resultant actual focal length on APS-C is a mere 12mm, so very useful on occasions.

An early evening view across the ''Great pond'' towards 'Hardwick Hall' built between 1590 and 1597 and the ''Hardwick old hall'' now under renovation - hence the white sheeting,. built 1587 to 1596 by Elizabeth Cavendish, Countess of Shrewsbury, known as Bess of Hardwick.

An add on to the previous photo,..A minimal and distant fence here,.. this cutting is the continuation of an enbankment in order to maintain a gentle slope upwards - as this was once the railway track in order to bring goods out of the 'Moss valley' where once were , many small industries - mills - dams - mines - scythe and sickle works. A picture in picture - shows a more colourful lane - from May 2020.

Still used regularly today by walkers is this very old Packhorse Bridge which here crosses over 'Burbage brook' and the footpath continues onto the popular historically interesting landmarks of 'Carl Wark' and 'Higger tor' both seen here,. A fence alongside an example of 'Derbyshires' dry stone walling surrounds the tiniest of graveyards,. supporting just two memorials - to a man who I feel would probably have been a local farmer of which land he owned, and maybe was entitled to choose his own resting place. The small 'donkey' headstone is enscribed with the memories of his wife.

Walking the riverside pathways at Newark on Trent,.. and showing a very old stone footbridge - Newark is a thriving market town steeped in history, on the east side of Nottinghamshire UK.

Dozing - flat out and starting Christmas by relaxing earlier than most of us,.. is 'Bella' my Sons' Border Collie, no doubt soaking up the warmth from the log burning fire.

While browsing 'Google earth' photographs - I came across a very special view of 'Criccieth castle' in North Wales - I noticed that it was posted by 'Herb' Riddle',, as I was in the region I simply had to visit the same spot and attempt to capture the scene

A view from June 2022,.. across one of the several 'lower' ponds - at 'Hardwick Hall',.. there are a series of ponds to the West of the hall - which all help to add natures interest to a most pleasant stroll.
