Ladybower dam.. the West overflow... 'Plughole'

Ladybower dam.. the West overflow... 'Plughole'
Recent heavy rains have ensured that reservoirs are full to overflowing.. here at 'Ladybower' near Sheffield two overflows were built instead of a retaining dam wall. The water plummets 20 metres down these shafts and along smooth concrete lined tunnels big enough to drive a bus through...and into the river Derwent below.

Thanks a lot Colin....... that is the edge we have yet to walk... we'll have to wait and see how the weather goes... maybe a crisp winters' day... or next Spring.
Keep well... and Cheers from ... Dj.

Spot on Dave. Beautiful scene that seems to be pulling me into that maelstrom plughole. Very well done my friend.
