Oh wow! So pretty! And I was mistaken as I thought this was a geranium! Didn't have a close enough view to see that I was looking at gorgeous red bracts, not flower petals! :D I do love that about these flowers! I remember studying the plants and noticing the tiny white centers and realizing..."OH WOW! A flower inside a flower!" What I didn't know until I read about them was that the most colorful parts of this plant aren't flower petals at all! In fact, just like the Twinberry pictures I shared the other day...the red "petals" around the berries are bracts, just like bougainvillea!
