This nearest road is a new bit of road laid down since the bridge over the M25 was closed here because of the HS2 chiltern tunnel entry point being constructed. You can just see a gantry and other steel works on the left of the picture. Then between that and the new road lies the M25 totally hidden to our view at this point. Hi Steve, this area is a cone and fence breeding ground. Now that the tunnel boring machines have been built and started their boring there is an enormous amount of activity going on 24/7.

Thanks for your good wishes ~ Hanwe and stay healthy

You're certainly on the right side pf the fence here. This must be the quietest the M25 has ever been. ;-)
HFF dear Nick, and stay safe and healthy.

Thanks for the link Nick. I'm not sure what to think of the HS2! When I saw your csp, the first thing that came to mind was Crispian St Peters and "I'm the Pied Piper"!! Then I remembered where you live ;-) HFF and wish you a good and safe weekend ~ Rosa.

Hi Rosa

It is a difficult one, I love trains and also great infrastructure engineering projects and think that once it is all finished it will blend in. On the other hand the disruption is great and effects many people. Conservation groups have many valid reservations. The final cost will be mind boggling and if working from home stays in fashion how many passengers might use it I wonder.
sorry about the CSP, you made me smile though :~)' Have a good weekend and stay safe

I agree with all that you have said Nick.
What about the A303 at Stonehenge....that's problem goes on and on and on!!

Best wishes,
Rosa.

Hi Rosa ~ I cannot see why they don't build a new two lane dual carriageway to the left of the existing road when travelling west. They could then build a earth bank to screen off the view of Stonehenge from the road so as passing drivers do not get distracted .

In time the whole length of the A303 needs to be dual carriageway.

Of course Stonehenge was originally built as a roundabout for ley lines as the foot traffic was causing congestion . Merlin threw a fit

That is exactly what we have always said Nick. It's just ridiculous. The part of the A303 from Sparkford to Podimore is due to be made dual carriageway soon, so at least that will be one problem sorted.

Have a good evening....almost need the central heating on again!

C'mon Nick, you got to be desperate to be taking photos of fences almost on the M25 :) Neverthe less, it works of course! Well done.
