Almost sure it is a Large Hairy white cabbage caterpillar

Buff-tip caterpillar the markings are similar but the yellow stripes are different. they are across the body while yours are the lenght of the body

Looking at the evidence you have provided, I am certainly convinced it is a Cabbage White..

(But I am not an expert on these matters... I just happened to see him in the trees!)

It seems we have a few Yellow and Black Catterpillars in the UK :))

This was where my ID thoughts on this critter being a Buff-tip Moth came from
