St Agnes Head

Granite, lichen and stonecrop, looking out from the top of St Agnes Head towards the twin isles of Man and His Man, or Bawden Rocks as preferred by the O. S.
Apologies everyone. I see that I also posted this only a month ago but such are the lovely comments I have decided to keep both.

Three severe storms in this decade have meant the wall has had to be rebuilt each time. The last one only a few weeks ago. I expect work is carrying on as I type this! They do complete the repairs very quickly so they might already have finished!

The GR10 (the route that crosses the peninsula from Valencia to Lisbon) used to pass by here. But on my most recent walks in this local area (I stress I haven't done the whole walk from coast to coast), the way-marks for this long-distant route have shifted away from this point and indicate a path on the other side of the mountains behind me here. I guess it is either to arrest path erosion or, much more likely, to avoid expensive property access disputes!

Cistus on the path. This leads from La Cabrera town to El Cancho Gordo. Ahead is El Cancho de La Bola, home of vultures.
The blue waymark on the rock at mid-centre indicates that a path to a renowned rock climbing area leads off from the main path here.
HFF! Roadworks outside my flat.

Dedicated cycle lanes being built at the expense of parking for the residents. That's progress, I suppose. It means my girlfriend now can't park outside, but has to trawl the side streets for hours looking for a parking space. :o)

Godrevy again, but it is an addictive place! This must be one of my favourite shots of it. The sea surging over the left-hand rock does it for me!

Collapsed sea caves.
Probably when the legend of Ralph (a Cornish giant) and his cupboard (to store his stolen booty from shipwrecks) was first told, these really were sea caves and the word 'cupboard' made sense. ... Just guessing!

Walking this stretch of The South West Peninsula Coast Path is the only way to see this coast.
It's seen better days.

Probably uninhabited. There are many properties like this in the villages of rural Spain. Here, in Mogarraz, not so many as it is a touristy place.

Sierra de La Cabrera. I did get back to the bar just in time, which was the important thing!
Full screen gives one 'the only way is up' incentive!
If averagely fit, you get to the summit in about 45 minutes from here. I actually find that coming down takes only marginally less time - say 35 minutes - due to the powdery, unstable nature of the rough paths; these are always easier to ascend than descend!

From left to right, El Cancho de La Bola, home of vultures (they are on it, having a siesta), El Cancho Gordo and El Cancho Largo, the reverse of the adjoining photo taken from the other side of the ridge.

The water was at its brilliant best.
You can just about make out the path to the beach, in front of me - going to the left and round the spiny bush. Not much frequented and its steeper sections mean a beach mercifully free from the hordes. They can stay in Devon!
