Sierra de La Cabrera
Very tempted to give it a little shove!

More granite! La Sierra de La Cabrera on a hot autumn day.
Directly ahead is El Cancho Largo, the highest point in the sierra and my 'Guardian of the Mountains' as seen in profile in some earlier shots. Taken from the GR10 which runs past here: the long-distance footpath from Valencia to Lisbon.

Both plants are abundant at the moment in the countryside of Central Spain.
Taken near El Escorial.
I see some leaf-cutting insect has had a go at the petals!
Roman Road near El Escorial.

A minor Roman road - not linking any major towns - probably built for transport of minerals mined in the Sierra de Guadarrama.
But well preserved in a few places such as this. Elsewhere all the stones have been half-inched for wall construction!
Porthcurno and The Minack Theatre from Trereen Din…
Keeping watch.

I know I only uploaded this 3 weeks ago on Pano but I was prompted to show this again here when I saw Campayo's great shot of the escudo (escutcheon).

Basset Cove, North Cliffs, Cornwall. Lots of seaweed making rock-hopping a dangerous pastime. I treaded very gingerly and got past here eventually without mishap.

Taken on a very hot October day. This more or less encompasses the whole of the Sierra de La Cabrera (yes it is a small range but quite distinctive, standing out from the rest of the sierra). This shot is taken from near the summit of Mondalindo to the northwest. It overlooks the village of Valdemanco.

Taken with my short-lived Samsung. It self-destructed 2 months after I bought it. The company said 'water damage' which wasn't true. But I got nowhere with them so I vowed to have nothing to do with Samsung ever again. Poor PR in my book!

Only accessible by sea.
I didn't know who Ralph was nor what was in his cupboard! But Keith Burton kindly rode to the rescue with this link!

Sunbathing on this beach is NOT recommended due to frequent rockfalls!

A fine and famous bridge over the Rio Manzanares. Photo taken in November 2012, despite my camera giving the wrong date and impossible to correct!

It's easy to get down to this point but from the top it looks impossible, Great to see astonished walkers on the coast path looking very concerned at the danger. I normally pass them about 20 minutes later and with a cheery hello, then quickly descend to Tubby's Head which leaves them even more astonished. All paths are very easy and safe; they just don't look it from above!

This is pleasing artwork to me and makes worthwhile use of material which would otherwise have been discarded.
