Typical Cornish coastal scenery. Hell's Mouth is mid shot. It simply sucked in shipping!
Granite scenery (of course!)

El Cancho de La Bola in La Sierra de La Cabrera. The peak ahead is the main Griffon vulture home. I intend to post a few more vulture shots from there soon! Shot taken from close to the GR10, the long distance footpath between Lisbon and Valencia.

The cutest quoit in Cornwall (there are a few equally cute dolmens in Brittany and elsewhere in Europe).
Neolithic burial chamber; would have originally been buried completely under a mound of smaller stones and earth but 6,000 years of Cornish weather has easily disposed of all that!
H. A. N. W. E. everyone! Mountain stream
Will the storm come this way?

Well, yes it did. As I've told before, the forecast was for a hot and sunny day and all I had was a t-shirt. Half an our later and I was a drowned rat. Snow and hail too! But before I could really freeze, the sun came out again and I dried off and warmed up very quickly
Porthcadjack - very low tide.

If I had been down there for the 20 minutes or so of opportunity, I would have hopped over to Asparagus Island from Samphire Island as this was the lowest tide I ever saw here. But I was already too late. By the time I got down there, only 15 minutes or so later, I was too late to get there and back safely!
So I still haven't set foot on Asparagus Island! Another time, maybe.
HFF, everyone!
Venerable door, probably not much in use!

A very hot late October day but a magnificent long walk involving ancient woodlands, terrific parkland, the palace monastery, a Roman road, a tough and steep scramble up to a craggy granitic ridge and magnificent vistas. Perfect!

Granite forms just below El Cancho Largo, La Sierra de La Cabrera. Just seen in the far distance, Penalara - the highest summit in the Sierra de Guadarrama.
Additional note in 2022; this interesting structure crashed to earth sometime in 2013. So yes, not wise to have been standing under it ! I was sceptical of those members that thought it looked precarious. I was wrong!
