Rose-of-Sharon and mini-wasp passing through.

Rose-of-Sharon and mini-wasp passing through.
Parque Juan-Carlos I, Madrid.
If truth be told, I saw the wasp only when editing! (and it could be a mini-bee! I don't know what it is!)

Dimas Sequeira, trester88, Gudrun, Rosalyn Hilborne and 13 other people have particularly liked this photo

Great details, Andy, especially on the stamens. The insect resembles a mason wasp - Ancistrocerus parietum.

Could be. Also Pompilus looks like a candidate. I didn't know there were so many types of wasp! Mason wasps are apparently spider hunters.
Thank you Amelia. Have a good week.

I know this flower under "St John's wort". Good surprise, the little insect, now it's really an outstanding photo.

Gorgeous flower! That's a wasp, not a bee: the thin waist tells so.
