Found one the same color years ago at a North Carolina car lot --- took it out for a test drive -- loved it until I pulled back into the lot and the steering wheel came off in my hands.

Jammed it back on and shut the VW off.
Asked the person in the Used Car lot --- can you show me the repair history of this car.
He went and got it ... I read through it and asked him "has anything been done with the steering?"
He looked at me and answered ..no.
Then I told him about the steering wheel.

No, didn't buy the car -- but if it had no problems I probably would have.

Loved my VW bugs .. oldest one was a 1961....
Took me from North Carolina to Florida in spite of our son saying, "it will never get further than South Carolina.."

When I got to Florida, I called him !
