Besinnungsweg - Stoffelbergkapelle
Die Stoffelbergkapelle geht auf einen Vorgängerbau zurück, der am gleichen Platz bereits vor mehr als 500 Jahren stand.
Bereits im Mittelalter führte eine Landstraße von Ehingen nach Münsingen über den Stoffelberg. Vermutlich hat man nun auf der Höhe des Albübergangs eine Kapelle errichtet, die dem heiligen Christophorus geweiht wurde, der ja bekanntlich der Patron der Fuhrleute und der Reisenden ist.
Es kann auch nicht von der Hand gewiesen werden, dass die Kapelle dem Stoffelberg (=Christophorusberg) den Namen gegeben hat. Dann jedoch bereits vor 1390, denn zu dieser Zeit wird der Stoffelberg erstmals genannt. Sicher ist, dass die Kapelle zur Burg Altsteußlingen gehörte, da der Platz auf dem sie steht, Weide der Burg war.
