Thank you, Keith. Fascinating, but scary. He likes it, because it's an adrenaline rush, but as he gets older he is less excited by fire. ;-b

Yes, he's a great guy and has very good judgement, but I'm always worried during the fires.

A great image, but those fires are a real concern.

They certainly are, and the one in Oregon is the largest in the country. It's got the designation of a "megafire" and continues to chew up the landscape unabated.

Good photo, bad event.
What we not cut down, the fires burn away - or the floods wash down ...

That is the truth, isn't it? Crazy!

Boah! He was really close!
It's such a crazy world! In your area it's amazingly hot with dangerous bush fires and in my region the people are suffering from floodings!
... or did I mention that before? Global warming apparently also has an effect on memory loss. ;-))

I've been watching news about your floods, terrible death toll and apparently they will find many more people drowned. Awful. I'm not sure about the memory loss problem, but I would not be surprised if it was caused by fires and floods!

I saw on the news that Klamath Falls was affected. Hope you are ok and I look forward to getting more involved on ipernity again when I leave hospital, perhaps in 2-3 weeks.

The refugees are housed in the County Fairgrounds in KF. The fire itself is far enough away to cause smoke but so far no fire near me.

The fire has grown to nearly 400,000 acres, now, it's a monster. More and more people have to flee. Our airport is used by the tankers that drop fire retardant. This map is a satellite photo of the fire, which has grown a lot since then. I've added a white dot for Klamath Falls. (I lost track of where I got this photo. Sorry I cannot give proper credit.)

Fortunately (for you), the smoke is blown from Klamath Falls away. ...

On July 28 ► Swiss News Television was in Medford, Oregon. This is pretty close to Klamath Falls. One had to see terrible pictures. So I wondered how you were doing. We haven't heard from you in a while! :-O

Sorry, poly, I missed your comment here. Medford is farther to the west. Last year, though there was a terrible fire there that completely burned two small towns near Medford. Maybe those were the pictures you saw.

Oh, the ► report in Swiss News Television was on July 28 this year. But maybe they just mixed up the place.

Yes, it is fairy close, but the wind is usually blowing toward the east, as you can see. It's been a rough summer, with fire evacuee camps in several areas and in Northern California. There is one in the County Fairgrounds (Klamath Falls), where some friends are staying with their animals. Dogs, cattle, chickens, horses, etc. My grandson helps them take care of their animals. It will be a very long time before they can move back to what used to be their forest. First, there are hundreds of burned trees to cut down.

Western smoke has fouled the air all the way to New York City.

fortunately the fire is far from Klamath and you stay well! but is terrible for other people and animals!

Diane Putnam club has replied to Gabi Lombardo club
It was a very sparsely populated area with small farms, wildlife and mostly forest. There were many deer there and perhaps bears. Thank you for your concern, Gabi.
