Yep, I remember very well the serious feeling of doom. It was truly traumatizing. Not a feeling that a 12-year-old knows anything about! (Now, there is a daily, lower key trauma stretching over years. Absolutely exhausting.)

Ha! I'm a bit of a font nerd. Right now, the one I hate the most is the Google sans serif font that replaced their original, grown up serif one. It looks like kids designed it with crayons.

The owner of the place was an acquaintance of my family. Dot Peterson, was her name. That's all I remember.
