That's a lot of trouble for an additional 15" in part of a garage wall.

It looks as the owner of the garage didn't find the brake pedal when he parked in backwards with his camper ;-)

Ha Ha wonderful.

Our garage is like that, a previous owner added maybe one metre to the length of the garage, which required removing maybe nine cubic metres of rock and installing an add on concrete and girder roof, and the add on is both narrower and lower than the rest of the garage.

No idea why, lost in the mists of time

Well spotted Diane. The owner is fortunate to have garage with which it is easy to make additional storage space. Garages are never quite capacious enough. I'd like to be able to do it with mine.

You are so right! They ceased to be just for cars a long time ago. Their use as workshops is probably even more important, now. I wish I had one!

What? People actually put _cars_ in garages? How quaint!

Haha - I know only one person who does. My cousin, whose 2-car garage contains absolutely nothing else. Weird!

I keep a car in mine, and tools, and books, and car parts, and electronics and computer parts, and general handyman stuff.

That's the proper use of a garage! If I had one I would squeeze my car in to keep the ice and snow off.
