Denny's

Denny's
Chain diner founded in the late 1950s. It's hard to believe it's survived all these years. The place for breakfast on the run. American breakfast is based on the English breakfast, without the beans-on-toast and fried tomato Also, we have our bacon crisp, not limp. Pancakes or hash-brown potatoes replace the beans and toast. Variations include banana or strawberry pancakes, biscuits and gravy with sausage, and many others...

Definitely, although my dad ate those breakfasts all his life and lived to 89! Personally, I don't like that much grease - at least not very often.

I worked at a Denny's in the early 80's for a while. Ha ha those breakfast hash brown potatoes...not exactly fresh. They came in cardboard containers where the cook added water to the container to rehydrate them and then tossed them onto the greasy grill. The only thing I liked on the menu was the coffee! 8-D

I never order diner hash browns, they absolutely taste like little chips of cardboard! Besides, I'd rather have pancakes...flapjacks...hotcakes. A short-stack. Lots of butter and fake maple syrup and bites dipped in the egg yolks (over medium, please). There, you've got my order! Oh, and bacon.

Americans also eat sausage for breakfast. I've seen 'em doing it. Unfortunately you don't have peameal bacon, the ideal form of bacon. A full back cut, cured but not smoked. And do you have HP sauce?

I've never had breakfast at Denny's. Maybe I should have -- I have bad memories of their other meals.

Yes, we also eat sausage and have HP sauce. I don't think many people use it, though. I can't recall ever eating it, myself.

The breakfasts are generic, but reliable. I suppose I've eaten other meals there in past years, but don't remember them.
