1955 Oldsmobile Super 88, "Holiday" model

1955 Oldsmobile Super 88, "Holiday" model
The yellow whale...Mercury? Lincoln? Cadillac? Don't know, I'm just glad it's not mine. ;-o

Update: NO! "1971 Dodge Charger" says it's a Ford Thunderbird, also known as the Thunderchicken. Thanks, 1971 Dodge. (He is Ipernity's American car expert, just so you know, and maybe cars from other regions!)

Nicole Merdrignac, , Graf Geo, Andy Rodker and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

I believe that's the '55 Olds Super "88" model.
Holiday was Olds speak for hardtop (no side window posts).
Looks like the tire pressure is a little low.

The whale is a 1971 Ford Thunderchicken (Thunderbird) and I agree I wouldn't want it.
It came standard with a 429 cubic inch (7 liter) V8 so I'm sure it was a pig.
I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot wrench! ; )

A Ford Thunderbird! I would never guess that, but I see the big bird, now that you mention it! The Olds' tires are flat indeed, wheels on the pavement. At least it's in a nearly rust-free area.

Thanks, Mr. Dodge!

A friend in the UK had a 71 Dodge charger (as well as a couple of harleys). He used to enjoy rumbling up and down the High Street setting off the alarms in the parked cars! He could achieve this both with the Dodge and the Harleys!

That is quite a tale, Andy, and thanks for that star.
