Ponderosa forest
Old photo, about 2011 in Keno, Oregon. Pinus ponderosa and its subspecies and varieties are found in the western United States and Canada. I live in a large zone containing one of them, so these are probably Pinus ponderosa subsp. ponderosa. There could also be some of the variety Pinus ponderosa var. washoensis, especially further east. The ponderosa is a large, heavy-wooded tree, with a straight trunk, excellent for lumber, so this tree formed the basis of Klamath County's booming logging industry from the late 1800s to present (though it is now minimal). The bark is a pretty reddish color, cones are persimmon-shaped and about 6.5" long at maturity. Common names for the ponderosa are bull pine and yellow pine.
