Aspen and pine landscape

Aspen and pine landscape
Still snow on the ground north of where I live. These are quaking aspen, one of my favorite trees. The leaves flutter and sparkle in the wind and are bright yellow in the Fall.

, Tanja - Loughcrew, Andy Rodker, John FitzGerald and 5 other people have particularly liked this photo

"Aspens in Winter": lovely ... the aspens and pines are a nice contrast ... and that fence really anchors the foreground ...

Ahhh, so the Birkenstock shoe company is Birchstock! Wow, my brain just exploded. Anyway, these look like birch trees, but they aren't. oregonforests.org/tree/quaking-aspen. They are all over North America, especially higher altitudes. You wouldn't want to import them to Europe because they sprout new stems from the roots, thus becoming invasive.
