Fars caravan, Iran, 1977

Fars caravan, Iran, 1977
My father and two brothers were working in Iran at this time. My mother went with them and they were there for about seven months at several job sites in the desert, Tehran, Bandar Abbas and elsewhere. This location on the map, west of Shiraz, is approximate, based on my brother's recollection.

Michael Chow, Marie-claire Gallet have particularly liked this photo

I would love a closer look at those textiles! What a hard life this would be. I heard from a friend in Tehran that the nomads still migrate, but many are settled, now.

No, I was married and had a child. I couldn't run away to Iran even if I wanted to! Later they went to what was called Zaire (now Dem. Rep. of Congo).
